Peter Rabbit is very special in our house as he was featured on my own son’s christening cake, so I always feel a bit more emotionally attached to any cakes which feature him on. I was delighted when little Leo’s mum asked me to redesign my son’s christening cake for her son’s 1st birthday. Funnily enough my youngest daughter has also been watching the new Peter Rabbit series on Nick Jr. It reminded me of the story and how Peter went to bed without any blackberries because he had been in Mr McGreggor’s garden. So, I decided to make them more of a feature on this cake. There’s over 100 teeny tiny fondant balls on each of the blackberries. Sugar blossoms, hydrangeas and leaves are also in the sugar flower arrangement. Peter is also made of sugar, as is the large bow on the side.
