This was an incredibly special cake to make!! My parent’s have just celebrated 50 years of marriage!! they are an amazing couple & my siblings & I have been blessed with an awesome upbringing :) I got to make their cake – it was all up to me & mum & dad had no input in what I was creating for them. I decided to go with a wedding cake with them in their wedding gear on top – as we were celebrating that day 50 years ago! The top tier has them & some brush embroidery for decoration, the middle tier pleated in the same design that was on the bridesmaids dresses. The bottom tier has a bow – mum had a bow on the back of her dress. The bible verse on the cake board is one that they have engraved on their wedding rings – it’s been a special verse that they felt was the verse for their marriage. They have often gone back to it over the years. Lastly white roses, mum had them in her boquet, and roses are also super special to dad’s parent’s who are no longer with us.
