One of my favourite cakes I have made! A stunning 2 tier chocolate chess board wedding cake. The bride used to paly chess as a child with her father, so this was her nod to him on her wedding day. The bottom tier featured a (false) pull out drawer with additional chocolate chess pieces in. The top chess board was marble effect with hand made chocolate chess pieces on top. The detail at the front of the top tier was a copy of the brides 70 stone engagement ring (but in gold). The wedding took place at Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey).
