My First Ever Cake!

My First Ever Cake!

This was the first cake I ever made. In fact, I didn’t even make it – I bought three lumps of madeira cake and stuck them together with jam!

It was supposed to replicate the ‘bomb’ on the left that I’d made for my son’s spy party. The sticks of dynamite were tubes of Mentos, still with the paper on! I had no idea how to cover a rectangle with fondant, so I gathered it all at the back and cut off the corners. And, yes, that is my breadboard covered in tin foil. :-)

I made it with my mum and we had the best time. I was hooked after that!

Ha! Did you use licorice bits for some of the bomb components? Brilliant in any case! ;)

Thanks for sharing your first cake with us! Like Loren said, you had talent from the beginning.

I’m embarrassed that this made the Daily Top Three, just because you were all checking out how hilarious it was!

Hilarious? NO WAY!! This caught our eye just from the subject matter and skill, not because it is hilarious. For a first cake…WOWZA!!! Excellent job! I remember themed parties for my kids. I miss those.
