I have many members of my family that do not like fondant and want an all buttercream cake. I made this cake for my daughter’s birthday. It is a 6″×6″ butter cake with raspberry filling and buttercream icing. I love The White Flower Cake Shoppe’s big buttercream flowers so this is my attempt at one of their designs! Some out of town guests arrived 3 hours early and I was just finishing up the cake. I had to skip the fondant letters I had planned and just grabbed an icing bag and quickly piped on Happy Birthday. Wish I had just left it off as it looks so sloppy. : ( Oh Well. Thanks for looking!
Great job on the flowers!

Awww….thank you Toni for your nice compliment!!! The flowers are really fairly easy to do. I used a Wilton #402 tip. There is also a #403 that is a lot bigger. You just start with the outer petals and work your way in to the center. I think the real trick to this flower is having the right consistency icing. I definitely need more practice!
This is lovely…kind 60’s feel to it….
