This is a cake with a great story which I simply have to share. It is very personal cake which was recovered from a near disaster.
The music on the board is the music that the bride will be walking down the ailse to. Her husband to be is also a professional musician mainly doing musical production in theatres. The musical notes float up from the board and merge and blend into the treasure.
The treasure chest and the treasure spilt all over the cake represents one of her TV roles on children’s TV where she plays a pirate.
The near disaster involved a logo that the bride’s sister designed. This was of Tinkerbell hovering over a grand piano. They met when she was playing tinkerbell in a pantomime and he was in charge of musical production. This silhouette design appears throughout their wedding featuring on invitations etc. Naturally they wanted it on the cake as well. I tried and it looked awful. I painted it is silver and that did not work. I tried covering the mess with an edible image and that did not work. I ended up having to re-ice the bottom tier. Fortunately when I spoke to the bride and told her that it was not working she was absolutely fine about it and was happy for the cake to go ahead with out it. When she saw the finished product she described it as a blessing in disguise that the image had not worked.
