I made this cake for a staff Christmas party at the school where I work. When I realized that nobody was going to take the initiative to cut into it, I decided I’d have to do the cutting myself. I snuck off to the food table thinking I’d discreetly slice and plate some of the cake for people to eat. I picked up the knife and heard a collective intake of breaths from my colleagues. When I turned around, all eyes were on me. ..“you’re not going to cut it!?!” Silly teachers! Cake is for eating!!
