Pretty Sofia the First cake custom-matched to the party invitations, thus the turquoise quatrefoils. The figurines were supplied by the client. The reason Sofia is off-center is they are going to add a big “3” candle to the top of the cake at the party.

The top tier matches Sofia’s dress, & the bottom tier matches the background of the party invitation. Both tiers are vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream filling, but the layers are tinted in ombre purples, moving from lavender to deep purple. Since I don’t have a picture of the inside, I took a picture of the trimmed layers to give you an idea.

The cake is also finished in buttercream instead of ganache, because the birthday girl has a severe nut allergy. Thank goodness it’s cold here now! This is the first non-ganache cake I’ve done in months It turned out really well, though.
