RE: Can Saracino paste be used to cover a cake like fondant does?

You don’t say where you’re from, so it’s hard to make a recommendation. I’m fortunate I have a store close to me that sells Satin Ice. Although Satin Ice is not my fav, kind of stretchy, I like the bright red colour. I add tylose to strengthen.

Thank you, June. I live in Harrisonburg, Virginia. I buy all my fondant online. I’m not a fan of Satin Ice anymore, although I have used the red and deepened the color with gel. I find Satin Ice to be too dry. And the edges always crack. The best fondant I’ve used is Carma, but I can’t get them to ship the red to the US. I used Saracino Paste to cover a wooden sofa frame I made. It rolled out thin and was very sturdy and didn’t crack at the folds. I thought maybe their red would work for a cake.
