Annie Villasin-Young (owner of Annie's Balloons & Party Stuff - Annie's Cake Kitchen, businessmom, homebaker-cake decorator, and balloon decorator)

Short Background:

Annie’s Balloons and Party Stuff, with home office in Quezon City, has already balloon-decorated and/or made customized cakes and cupcakes for more than 550 events/parties from December 2010 to December 2014.

Businessmom Annie Young attended the basic balloon decorating workshop at the Technological Resource Center in October 2010, and then started Annie’s Balloons and Party Stuff, with her first balloon-decorating event in December 2010.

She subsequently took up Special Baking, Master Course in Cake Decorating, and Advanced Gumpaste & Foreign Method (Fondant) under Chef Jun Florendo’s school in the early part of 2013. And so began Annie’s Cake Kitchen!

End of December 2014, about a year and eight months after she made her first fondant cake in April 2013, she has already baked and decorated 200 fondant cakes – yes, exactly that number at the end of 2014! : ) – and over 4,200 cupcakes in her home cake kitchen. She’s especially proud of her bestselling moist chocolate cupcakes and chocolate cake for her customized fondant creations. She doesn't use mixes; she bakes cakes and cupcakes and makes her icings and fondants all from scratch. These have been for different occasions and clients, for whose trust and confidence she’s always thankful for. Basically a one-woman team, she continuously explores baking and cake decorating techniques in the company of her books, as well as finding inspiration from other cake decorators from different parts of the globe, and of course with her hubby Henry and daughter Reese as source of strength and determination.

Annie's Balloons and Party Stuff was featured in Entrepreneur Philippines Magazine's May 2012 issue (Article: “Businesses Under P50,000”), Dubai-based Illustrado Magazine's June 2012 issue (Article: “Annie’s Balloons & Party Stuff”), PhilStar.com's Health & Family's July 13,2012 banner feature story (Article: “A New Breed of Working Mothers”), and once again in Entrepreneur Philippines Magazine's June 2013 issue (Article: “The Many Paths to Entrepreneurship”).

With her past work experiences – from journalist, PR writer, editor, and medical transcriptionist, among others, to businessmom as balloon decorator and homebaker-cake decorator – Annie was also featured as TV/radio guest in TV5/Radyo Singko’s Metro Sabado program on March 15, 2014 in the show’s regular segment titled "Ganito Siya Noon, Kamusta Ka Na Ngayon.”

Annie hopes to do and serve more in the future, believing that “nobody can be uncheered with a balloon” (seconding Winnie the Pooh’s notion!)… and likewise with a prettylicious cake!

Life is sweet!
