I gained my creative flair during my many years as a graphic designer, and initially developed an interest in sugar craft after creating a designer birthday cake as a bit of fun for a family member.
My talent and passion grew quickly as I started making celebration cakes for all the family and a few of my friends.
Without realising it my hobby had suddenly become a business. It was then that I enrolled on a course at Brooklands College, a centre for excellence in bakery, sugar craft and cake decorating.
In 2008 I finally turned my new passion into a profession and founded Venus Cakes.
Since then I’ve won awards, presented at industry events and shows, and have also been featured on Sky TV.
In 2012, the company rebranded to Amanda Macleod.
