I need a good gumpaste recipe. I saw a good one on a blog a while ago and thought I bookmarked it but didn’t. Ill be making a lot of peonies soon and would like a good quality white paste. Thank you all.

This has several recipes, including Nicholas Lodge’s gum paste recipe.

Google the Nicholas Lodge recipe. You’ll find it. It is really good to work with – you can roll it really thin – but it does need to sit overnight. I think that it is posted on Edna de la Cruz’s site, Design Me A Cake, among manhy others. If I remember correctly she even has a video showing how she makes it.

Definitely use Nicholas Lodge’s recipe – I’ve tried a lot of others, and not only is his method the easiest to make, but it is such wonderful gum paste to work with!
