Hello everyone! I have been “dormant” in creating cakes and cookies for a while for my family was adjusting (and still is) to our new home. From sunny Philippines to cold Midwest, USA, it has been quite an experience moving in the dead of winter. But, we are loving our new home and the quiet, yet charming county is booming with the arts. I would like to hear from you on how I can successfully start my home cake business here, get some traffic (lots of it🤗) and introduce my hand painted art cakes (which most are not actually accustomed to). So, being a newbie, I do need to start from zero and patiently work my way up. But, I’m 100% passionate about what I do and would love to share my art and expertise within my community and hopefully, beyond. Conducting a painting class is also a consideration if there are takers, joining fairs is a must, and complying those business permits are on the works. Your inputs are so highly appreciated. Sweet kisses from Fort Dodge, IA❤️ and hope to collaborate with you soon❤️

Cannot help you much about starting in the USA, but all I can say is do what you are happy with, and you will find your market. Good luck.

Oh goodness, talk about a climate change. Welcome to the US. Can’t help with ideas since I have no experience with it. Best of luck to you.

I had a professional decorator friend who moved to Illinois from Canada because her husband got transferred there for his job. She couldn’t get a green card to start her cake decorating business. She was going to start teaching for fun at a local church. I don’t what happened as we lost touch. Of course, it really depends on where you live. You would have to check with your local city authorities.
