Well, I am unable to load the image but maybe someone can still help. I’ve been asked to do a baseball themed cake, covered with white fondant. Here’s the part I’ve never encountered before: she wants it to look like a dirty baseball. I’m looking for suggestions on how to do that? Again, sorry I am unable to upload the image.

TIA!

Just after you cover it in fondant get some petal dusts in brown and black lightly dust the ball with a small fluffy brush… be careful to tap most of the dust off of it first. Then when your done give it a quick steam to set the color a bit…it will darken a bit after steaming. Hope that helps. Good Luck! =)

AnnMarie said it best but if you don’t have any brown petal dust on hand cocoa powder might work too! (and smell lovely!)
