Modelling faces

Hi,
I’d really like to get better at modelling people and especially their faces. Can anyone point me in the direction of some good tutorials- could Google but end up with so many I don’t know where to start and would rather have ‘tried and tested’ good quality, particularly videos if possible.

Thanks! X

I would recommend Liz Marek’s YouTube tutorials. She has various figure tutes but they all feature some tips on faces too. Will follow this with interest though, be good to learn what others recommend.

Thank you for the recommendations, I shall watch these later. Liz Marek has shared lots of good videos- might get lost in YouTube for a long time! :-)

Hi, came across this free photo tutorial this morning on faces. It might help if your after a more cartoon look to your faces.

Never seen it done with white inside, great technique.

Its a Styrofoam ball inside that you cover with flesh coloured fondant, helps make the head lighter.

Oh wow, didn’t even think of that. Of course, makes sense.
Thanks.

I have never done a human face before!!! To be honest I am a bit afraid to try one as I don’t believe my modelling skills can stretch so far!!! However I have bookmarked all the tutorials that have been indicated above!!! They make it look ‘easy’ so hopefully I will find enough courage to try modelling faces some time!!! Thanks a lot to Wallace and Vanessa!!!
