Also, if your looking to take cake home with you from Peggy’s cake parlour, then I would recommend buying a slice of cake rather than a cupcake, they are £1 more but you will stand more chance of getting it home in one piece, unfortunately delicious as they are, some of her cupcakes flavours do not travel well, so avoid trying to take home the Chocolate Heaven & the Strawberry & cream cupcakes.

Thanks for your help everyone. Have been googling away and lots of ideas. Bea’s sounds a real favourite with lots of people, wish we could get to them all.

To have to go to Beas of Bloomsbury for afternoon tea, you won’t be an,e to eat it all but they give you a lovely ‘doggy bag’ so you can take it home x

Hi Rosie, I came across the details of your cake crawl last night, it sounded brilliant. Will definitely follow some of your leads.
Callie, you are right, it would be fantastic to do this again.
I will see how much we are able to fit in on Saturday and give you all a little feedback on how it all went.
Thanks so much everyone x

Carol, we have booked for late afternoon tea at Bea’s last stop before train home. Can’t wait.

I went to Bea’s Vintage tea rooms in Bath, I am not sure they are the same company but if they are, be prepared that you are in for a treat! Their afernoon tea is amazing! Loved their scones and I have no words to discribe their cakes!! Simply delicious!

Can’t wait to hear all about it. I’m inspired now to do this for myself. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if we could get a really massive group of us together and go on a mega cake crawl? Although I think that might be a weekend trip, would need a couple of days for that one xx

Hi all. Well we had a wonderful day, as a mum to a son it is so lovely to have a "girly"day out with a niece. First we headed to Peggy Porschen’s parlour where we spent ages trying to decide what to try. The staff is lovely and didn’t rush us at all. I would have liked to see more decorated cakes on display though. Next we headed to Partridge market and then over to Hummingbird in Islington. We pottered around Covent Garden (we had originally wanted to visit Lorraine Pascale’s bakery, but this closed down in August). We finished with late afternoon tea at Bea’s before heading home with lots of cakes to share with the family. I really enjoyed having a themed visit and highly recommend it.

Forgot to add, although the cupcakes were good, my niece’s red velvet cupcakes knocks them all out of the park!
