Peggy Does Cake ...

You did a gorgeous job ion this cake! And the photo with your daughter is priceless! The first time I ever saw this design was by Kerrin of Cakes by Kerrin, and she has done a beautiful tutorial on it. Nina, no disrespect meant towards you for mentioning this, but with your permission, I’d be happy to link to the tutorial in a separate comment. xx

Hi Peggy and thank you for finding it for me! I just goggled Kerrin and wow!!!!! The link for Kerrin’s tutorial is here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cakes-by-Kerrin/139155212800032?sk=notes#!/notes/cakes-by-kerrin/ice-cream-cone-cake/234146299967589 . I love her cake, fudge and ohmygosh her swirls are soooooooooo much cuter and I wish I had seen it before I made this! The few main differences with our cakes is my cone is cake and boy, don’t I wish I had thought of using a styrofoam cone instead! That would have saved me hours (and I’m embarassed to say how many cakes!) figuring this one out. I also don’t use PVC structure. Unlike her gorgeous buttercream, I’ve used all fondant. I know I’ve seen a few of these cakes about, and it’s lovely to know who to give proper credit to. xoxo

What a great idea! love this photo and the colors on the ice cream look so real!

Well you outdid yourself. Your version is amazing! Thank you for sharing the tutorial; I know others will be inspired by both you and Kerrin and by both your beautiful cakes!
