Glow in the Dark Skull Cake

Glow in the Dark Skull Cake

A friend of mine has a big Halloween party every year and this years theme was glow in the dark. I made this skull cake with light up eyes and I used tonic water to make the icing that I used to pipe on the cake in the hopes that it would glow under the black lights. Unfortunately the icing didn’t glow that much, but the eyes looked really cool. The eyes were done with tiny battery operated LED lights that I covered in plastic wrap. Then I made very thin gumpaste eyeball covers for the lights. TFL!

Thanks you guys! littlecherry I molded the eyeballs over a couple of ping pong balls and trimmed them to make a half sphere. Removed them from the ping pong ball when they were dry and let them continue air drying for another 24 hrs., then painted the irises, pupils and veins on the gumpaste.
