This cake was a gift from my customer for her best friend’s wedding. The mood board that she sent me comprised of DIY paper bag lanterns, hand fans and CD favours made of doilies. The theme colour was Tiffany blue with a tinge of lime green. I was given a total free hand on the overall design and am very happy with how the cake turned out. This was my 1st time stencilling and I have to thank my gal Lesley for the great tutorial on her FB Page. I followed Lesley’s RI recipe using fresh egg whites and I have to say it’s a great one! Thank you Lesley! xo

The cake had to survive a 4 hour journey from my place to the wedding venue so I constructed a centre pole inside to give it a solid structure. A little extra work to buy me that peace of mind, totally worth the effort :)

Love this Sheryl, it’s beautiful. I thought I had already commented! Lesley’s tutorial is wonderful isn’t it? I don’t think I would have found the courage to dust mine off and actually use them without it! Again, beautiful cake, congratulations :) xxx

Gorgeous cake! I’m so excited because I finally purchased a stencil. Hope when I use it my results turn out as well as yours!

Thank you Raewyn and Naomi. You guys are among my cake heroes!
Naomi, you’ll be great! I think you should try Lesley’s RI recipe using fresh egg whites. I find it to be very smooth and has a good consistency.
