Definitely infuriating!!! Being upset is totally reasonable. I agree that being asked would have been a lovely compliment, but it still would have been your decision to agree or not. Not asking is downright thievery! So what can be done about it? I would write to the thief directly with your proof (the links that you included here) and ask either that she/ he remove the item being sold from her / his site or at least give you credit AND PAYMENT! She/ He is not just presenting the photo on her/ his site as her/ his own, but is charging money for that exact cake to be made and sold!

The rather comical thing is the price she was asking for that cake. And here I gave it away for free. :) I did write her and strongly suggested she remove my photo from her website as well as Pinterest. It makes me wonder how many of those cakes in her gallery are actually hers because some are fine works or art while others look like basic beginners cakes.

Well the response I got from her after messaging her on Facebook is a very old and trite story. Her “Tech” who designed her website had accidentally used an original photo someone had sent them. Really, you paid a tech to design your site but never went back to look at it and realize the cake he posted was not your work? And did your tech print your business name across my photo on Pinterest? As I said, first time this has happened to me but not the first time I have seen it happen to other’s. What enjoyment do you get out of this? Someone might contact her and ask to have that cake reproduced and she won’t be able to do it.

Shirley

So has she agreed to take down the photo now that she’s been called out on it … or maybe now she’ll say that she no longer has contact with a “tech”?

I tried to go to her page, but all I got was Oops…doesn’t exist. Photo is still on Pinterest tho..😡

Creativity is God's gift to us. Using our creativity is our gift back to God. Clarky's Cakes 😎

“Doesn’t exist” is good. Maybe she took the page down. I’m not that familiar with the workings of Pinterest, but perhaps you could contact the management if such exists and explain the problem … or contact her again and ask her to remove it from Pinterest.

On Pi. nterest you have to have a trademark on your photo to register a complaint. Of course I don’t. I did still see the photo yesterday but will check it out tomorrow and then just let it go. Life is too short to stress over it.

Shirley

That’s really annoying!! I think the picture on pinterest has been removed. Can’t seem to find the pin.

What is amusing is she asked me to not comment on her page and to be professional. Alrighty then, photo stealing is professional? I missed that lesson.

Shirley

She asked you to “be professional”?? That’s the best joke of the outgoing year and the new one together ! :) Have a great year ahead, Shirley!
