I tried twisting fondant round a curved piece of florists wire to make a handle and it just didn’t work – the fondant just kept breaking, eventually I encased the wire in fondant and put some markings on it which looked ok, but was still extremely fiddly. I didn’t use any glue – I don’t know if that would have been more successful.

I wonder if modelling chocolate might work better? It’s not something I’ve tried.
