I personally think that what is the best fondant to use is personal preference. I started using satin ice but now i have moved onto Fondx which I seem to have much better results.
I just bought some Pettince but have not had a chance to try it. I know some people swear by it and I have read a lot of people who love making their own marshmallow fondant.
For me how i get the best results is actually rolling my fondant between 2 sheets of greased vinyl. I use THE MAT from sweetwise.
