I’m just a hobby baker. Now retired, I use to sell cakes on the side when I worked full time. But, I never did a lot, just occasionally. You would have to start slowly selling your cakes and build up a customer base. See if you can do that first. Are there many cake decorators in your area you would be competing with? You would need a good business plan and think about the cost of registering your cake business. Making cakes and is fun and satisfying. That doesn’t mean it can support you by doing it full time and pay all your bills. Setting up any business takes money, time and patience. Many decorators I know work either full or part time, and do there cakes on evenings and weekends. It’s a big leap and needs much consideration.
