Sara I saved Apples rice krispies birthday cake and that was 11 months ago. Mine is not even sealed on the bottom I just keep it on one of those “lace” doilies and it’s fine, faded a but but that is normal. But as Elli said putting it on a cake board that is decorated with fondant and attach it with royal or melted chocolate will create a seal. You can keep it forever just remember not to keep exposed to the sun and heat.
