Hey you’re not grumpy.. We all have our little quirks in the cake industry that niggle away and I certainly have had the odd moment when things kinda “get up my nose” so to speak 😄 I prefer the surprise too, but let the order of the cake guide me on theme, then prefer to run with it…. When it comes to my grandkids, they tend to ask me if they can have a certain theme or design for their cakes… I adore them and want to give them anything they want, so always try to meet both camps on this… Their theme and my surprise element… My last cake for my one grandson was a TRex … He showed me the picture… And got the shock of his life when he saw the actual cake… Hahaha, in a good way, as it turned out to be 3’ high and 4’ long… Totally not what he was expecting. He was so thrilled he took pictures to school, bless his heart.. .. .. So you can still put the surprise element into it too, despite being asked for a particular design. I sure get your point though, and very valid. Thanks for the debate 😄
