I think people that do cakes out of their homes should charge just as much as a bakery. I own a bakery and yes I pay employees, taxes and blah blah blah but, everything is at our fingertips and we can bake and decorate a lot faster than most all home bakers/decorators. So, in my opinion, it takes home bakers/decorators a lot more time to make and decorate a cake than a bakery. You should be compensated for your time. I think when you weigh the difference between bakery and home, for all the different variables, it all works out the same…
