Thank you for the research. I have found that, in most instances, a cake designer will copy a design, but will tweak it by adding a few personal touches so the end result will not be the same. However, in ALL cases, I feel that credit should be given to the person who produced the original design. That is the least you can do if you are using an idea they produced. There is no shame or harm in crediting someone’s ingenuity – the cake community is very giving and we love to share our work and ideas – so let’s not spoil it by usurping instead of crediting.
