My name is Dayan Neely. I am a photojournalist in the U.S. Army, also currently in school for Industrial Design. I am who Cosette (My Sweet, Cosette) refers to as "her painter." I have been involved in studio arts for about 30 years; drawing, painting, sculpting, and always learning. I am, by far, not the greatest artist out there, but I am always trying to leave my footprint in the world.
You will rarely see me paint something that is not free-hand. I have used a stencil, but I make sure Cosette states that in her descriptions. There are tons of beautiful cakes that have been stenciled or tutorial-based when painted, but I love having the ability to create personal and one-of-a-kind art for people. I've seen some others that are of the same mindset out there. I've also seen a myriad of cakes and concepts here that inspire me and baffle me. Keep going, please! It only makes us all better!
