New at CD

Hi everyone! I’m very happy to be part of this community!
I’m a native South American living in the United States for the last decade. I’m originally a chemical engineering, and then a pastry chef. I have been in several minor competitions here and there, and for some reason I got a winner cake every time! I worked for a few months in one of the largest cake decorating business in Texas and that helped a lot. I probably would have a great career as a cake decorator but… There is a bigger passion in my life, my family. I’m the humble mother of a large family. I have a wonderful husband, loving children and a full time home to care for. I homeschool my children and still have time once in a while to put something in the oven to please someone, from my children, to a friend, to our monthly potluck at church or maybe another competition! People is always surprised to see my cakes, not because they look great, but because they cannot imagine how could I manage to bake, decorate and take care of a large family… They don’t realize what an inspiration I found in the laughs of my little ones!
I’m glad to find a place full of talented and supportive bakers and cake decorators.
