Alice in Wonderland - The making of the characters

Hi,

I’m a new cake maker and have just created my first real cake – an Alice in Wonderland 3 tier topsy turvy cake, covered in wonderful fondant characters, including Alice, White Rabbit, Queen of Hearts… (view here —> http://cakesdecor.com/cakes/32594)

I made a few mistakes along the way, including poking some toothpicks through characters heads, failing at making white toffee in the first instance etc. I’m hoping that by sharing my blog on how I made the characters that others will find it a little easier if they attempt something similar.

I’ve now got just a week to make a Halloween cake for a friend – arg!!
