IF YOU ARE GOING TO COPY MY PICTORIAL TO CREATE WAFER PAPER BIRDS LIKE THESE, PLEASE GIVE CREDIT TO MY PAGE, BECAUSE I HAVE COME UP WITH THIS DESIGN AND THESE STEPS TO HELP OTHERS. EACH PHOTO IS COPYRIGHTED WITH MY NAME ON IT. THANK YOU.
You can draw up any shape bird you like or find something online if you can’t draw. So long as you have the cut lines in the right place, you can create your own style of bird….here’s what I created.
Something simple to start off with showing the lengths of each part.
Another bird with its own lengths and style.
I used MAPLE BUTTER. I got this delicious Canadian butter made with pure maple syrup. This type of butter is soft enough that you do NOT need to heat it up before you mix your Wilton colors with it.

As you can see, the wafer paper doesn’t melt and the colors don’t seep through.
I let them dry a little before I cut them out.

After you cut along the slits, assemble your bird – VOILA!
