Unfortunately, I’ve recently encountered a cake piracy, where some of my cake pictures (watermarked) was posted on another person’s facebook page, used to sell.
Please help me and our other fellow cake artists to report this irresponsible person ( not sure what kind of action, all I could do was to report the facebook page)
Many tried to demand their cake pictures taken down, but all were deleted, including mine.
Anyone know a solution to this? Please help…
I’m sure you will see familiar cakes on this page:

you need to report it to facebook.. They’ve been pretty good when I’ve reported others on several occasions with photo pinching… Heck, someone sent me a friend request and she has pinched my Barbie doll pic and made it her profile pic!!!! Hahaha what a cheek!!! It was so blatant I found it hilarious… It’s a problem that is nigh impossible to control, once your photo is out in the public domain, you lose control of it, so best to report it… And the more the merrier, as Facebook will take them down if they get enough people complaining about the same thing… Hope that helps in some small way… 😊😊
You must never limit your challenges, instead you must challenge your limits
This seems to be a never ending problem. Unless you can afford an attorney to sue these thieves I don’t think there is much you can do about it. Sad that people have to steal other’s designs because they don’t have the confidence or maybe talent to come up with their own. What I have always wondered is what they will do when someone orders a cake design from their portfolio and they can’t produce that cake! Think “Cake Wrecks”

Yes, I’ve reported the page.. and it seems like facebook is doing something because he/she has just posted asking for help because facebook is threatening to close the page down..
So we’ll see… :)

Good move Facebook!

This page actually has a lot of different cake artists cakes on there. Reporting to Facebook is the best as writing a negative review just gets you blocked from their page. Hope it gets sorted.

This sadly happens a lot. All I can say is its clear the cakes are not hers, she hasn’t rewatermarked them or cropped out the original watermark… Or even added a watermark to some of those without one. I saw worse on that site that stole Rosie Cake-Diva’s cake, they cropped her name off and wrote theirs on, plus they’re from a country where there are clear copyright laws and they were in no doubt they were doing something wrong and illegal- strange as it sounds this lady may not realise she’s done anything wrong because she hasn’t claimed she made the cakes. But I agree she shouldn’t put images up from others without permission. I hope you get the result you want xx
I just saw the last post she made, use translate and you can see she is calling for help because she doesn’t understand why people have reported her page and thinks it is malicious. I have explained as best I can that in the West it is illegal and not cool to do what she did but my Arabic kinda sucks haha… I’m sure it’s enough to explain to her though. I recommended that she remove pictures of every cake she had not made herself. Let’s hope she gets the message.
Ok she deleted my comment in Arabic. She knows. I’ll report the page too. Have also posted a comment as a rating in Arabic so she can’t delete it and all her likers will know too. Bet she won’t like that much :)
Hi
After reading Sawsen’s comments, i realized this person might have an issue understanding her error.
I allowed myself to write her a comment in Arabic, explaining that any picture (that isn’t hers) she uses as reference for her clients to choose from, must indicate the original creator or else it is considered as stealing.
I know how frustrating this must be to the cake creators, but from Haneno’s comments, it seems she isn’t aware of the mistake she’s done. Not defending her, but please do keep in mind lots of the Arab world countries, don’t even know what is copyrights.
I will check again tomorrow to see if my comment have been deleted or if i have an answer. I hope this would help.
Cheers
I saw and liked your comment – i posted in exactly the same place earlier today and a few hours later she deleted it. She seems to be periodically deleting all comments not in her favour whether in Arabic or English. My comment was clearly understandable enough to her to get her disapproval enough to be removed, when all I said was in the West you can’t just use other people’s pictures without permission. Now I put up a rating she can’t delete, and to be honest I gave her every benefit of the doubt of not understanding but her own behaviour has proven otherwise. I’m not bothered if they do close her page down now, she had a lot of warning.
