Super Moist Pound Cake

This a family recipe from my uncle. I use this for most of my fondant covered cakes because it is a really dense cake that can hold up to the weight. Enjoy!

Ingredients
1 cup margarine, softened
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 8oz package cream cheese, softened
3 cups sugar
6 eggs
3 cups flour
2 tsp vanilla

Directions
1.Combine first 3 ingredients, creaming well
2.Gradually add sugar
3.Beating until light and fluffy
4.Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition
5.Add flour to creamed mixture stirring until combined
6.Stir in vanilla
7.Pour batter into a well greased 10" tube pan
8.Bake at 325 for 1 hour and 45 minutes or until cake test done
9.Cool in pan 10 minutes
10.remove from pan and cool completely

I’ve made this 2x and really like it. I use only 1 tsp of vanilla but add 2 tsp of rum. Be careful with baking time. Mine did not take anywhere near 1 hr 45 minutes.

I am glad you liked it. I have only altered to a chocolate version so far. And yes I rarely put it in a bundt pan to bake. I usually make it in 2 8" pans which takes about an hour

Thanks for sharing! I was looking for a dense cake recipe, for wedding cakes. May I ask something? Since you don’t put any baking soda or baking powder the flour you use is it self rising ?

Nadia,
Actuallly I use all purpose flour. The cake rises very nicely all on its own!!!
