I enrolled in my first cake decorating class while in college full time. It was an awesome way to try out something completely different and artistic. I quickly became addicted to wanting to know more about this fascinating world of wonder and beauty. After my third session of classes, I quickly realized I needed a part time job to pay for all the equipment and tools I wanted! Thus Karla's Cakes was created. How fun, doing something I loved and had a passion for and generating a little income to pay for my pleasure....Win win in my book!
Fast forward marriage and children....and cheesecake.....awww the amazing cake that quickly became my passion and income. So I have spent many years creating recipes for cheesecakes. I love to make, create and eat them, but mostly I love the look of utter satisfaction as my clients sample their first bite!
Now I am completely enthralled by fondant folks and dream of doing the 3D art, that we call cakes. I am so impressed with the talented folks that work in decorating and putting art on a plate!
