This cake became very special & personal to me, so I kind of went overboard! They only needed to serve 20! And this is 3 cakes on a 24" board! LOL! But the little boy is turning 8 years old & he has NEVER had a proper birthday cake because he is so allergic to gluten. So this is his first one EVER!!! That touched my heart so I wanted to make it EPIC for him.

I’m as big a fan of Spongebob Squarepants as any 8-year-old, so I just had WAY too much fun! I wanted to do something completely different from the ‘underwater’ Spongebob cakes you see so many of, so the concept is Spongebob enjoying all his very favorite things for his best birthday ever. He is on the floor of the Goofy Goober Ice Cream Parlor, with a Krabby Patty as big as he is, plus a cake all covered in candy & ice cream, although he had a little accident with his ice cream cone! And the piece de resistance……a Triple Gooberberry Sunrise!!! (Remember those from the movie? Where he & Patrick get ‘drunk’ on the Triple Gooberberry Sunrises with a massive sugar rush, & then the ensuing crash & hangover gets ugly!)

Spongebob is gluten-free carrot cake with White Chocolate buttercream filling & white chocolate ganache. The Krabby Patty & the birthday cake are both gluten free Australian Chocolate Mud with Chocolate Caramel buttercream filling & milk chocolate ganache. The ice cream cone & Triple Gooberberry Sunrise are rice krispy treats with melted white chocolate & fondant decor. All edible except for the support structures!

This was TOO much fun, & a great excuse for ‘research’ watching Spongebob!!!
