Here’s an r2d2 cake that I made for my girlfriends little boys birthday. It was my gift to him. Quite a labour intensive cake but very pleased with the finished look. Other thank the fact that I had not considered that fact that he would slouch a little under the weight of fondant and misjudged the height of the support rod and it started to push through the top of his head….very annoying if that hadn’t of happened I would have said he was just right. Oh well live and learn
great job regardless!

Hello Robin,
The cake is made up of 3 cakes all boarded and stacked with supports and 1 long support running through the middle of all 3 tiers. It was this middle one that I misjudge the height of! The sides(arms, legs) I’m not too sure was to call them! are polystyrene covered in fondant and are interconnected to the bottom tier with wood. I hope this makes sense for you as it’s kind of hard to describe.
Thanks for your comments also.
Take care
Alison
