This was my entry for the 2013 Threadcakes.com contest which is an online contest where cake decorators compete to make cakes based on t-shirt designs from threadless.com. Mine was based on a t-shirt that I love called tea 2,000 feet and features some victorian chaps enjoying tea time on a steampunk whale. What’s not to love? The whale and the lower cake was all cake. The structure was made of PVC and an acrylic tube. The tale and the mouth was supported with a prodcut called worbla which is a thermoplastic material that is moldable by heat and is very strong. The steam was created with a bit of dry ice. The eye was made with a little battery operated LED. Thanks for looking!
