I made this cake for a cake competition at the end of September. I was inspired by the many cakes that use a tier to represent a character, but went about them a bit differently. It had to be made out of dummies for the show, so carving the hat was lots of fun! :) The key and keyhole were made by using a mold (I made the mold from old fondant/tylose & a skeleton key set I found, a great tip shared by Verusca Walker). I need to work on my hand-painting skills, so I rolled some fondant very thin and used small cutters for the flowers on the teacup. The stems and leaves were done by hand. Thanks for looking. :)
