Apologies to those who have already seen this cake, I did post it a few days ago but was asked to join a collaboration using this cake so I had to hide it again….now it’s back!

My alternative wedding celebration cake.

Although married 8 years ago ( been with my husband for 17 years) we decided to have our marriage blessed at church as we’d had a civil service. Back then I had a cupcake tower with pink and green flowers and butterflies this before cupcakes had had their renaissance. But I’ve always been fascinated by skulls and especially love the day of the dead style skull so it was an easy choice as time was tight and I though it would be fun.

So here’s my marriage blessing cake in the same colours as my original wedding, sugar skull bride and groom, one vanilla sponge one chocolate Guinness with Baileys buttercream.
