This cake was sooooo much fun to do but I had never made fairy wings before.
I started by air brushing the cake with purple, blue and black and once dry I hand painted the moon and the clouds onto the cake with a mixture if air brush colours and powder colours mixed with alcohol and used as paints.
The tree took some time but was worth it and it frames the moon nicely. It was just different sizes of rolled pieces gradually built up and then I added a little blossom – the figure was made with gum paste and the wings were done using a butterfly cutter as a guide but I didn’t cut it all the way through then extended it by cutting out around it into a fairy wing like shape . I used two layers and put a small wire frame inside the layers to make sure it held its shape when attached to the fairy. It was coloured with dusts and finished by stamping out some holes for effect and edging it in black . Loved painting on the Fairy’s make up xx
Hope you like it x
