This was for a wedding of a couple that both love classical music. The groom loved to play the piano and serenade his fiancé so they wanted to capture that for their wedding cake.

The piano was a time-consuming feat as I made all the pieces separately, 2 weeks ahead so they could dry completely. The outer pieces were all made from chocolate fondant and I made doubles of everything just in case any broke (luckily only a few minor pieces broke). A lot of time was also spent holding the pieces together as I assembled and attached them, until they were dry enough to stand on their own. The internal base of the piano was made from cereal treats.

This was one of my first times modelling actual people so there’s a lot of improvement needed (especially for the bride). Also my first time piping swirls and making a “realistic” flower spray. Much to be improved on and many lessons learned with this one, but I was happy to have pulled it off and the couple loved it. TFL.
