This song was playing in my head as I was experimenting with getting a realistic blonde hair effect on sugar for my Rapunzel figurine. The result of my experiment is this golden colored “hair” with different tones of blond highlights. Believe it or not, this technique was inspired by my hairdresser who is very experienced with coloring blond hair.

Made this cake featuring a 3D sugar figurine of “Golden Haired Rapunzel” for 4 year old Eva who loves the character of Rapunzel in the movie “Tangled”. I decided to include a 3D sugar figurine of Pascal, Rapunzel’s pet chameleon after the fans on my Facebook page voted for him to be included. Lol!

To make the cake prettier and to follow the color scheme of Rapunzel’s dress, I decorated the base of the cake with two layers of lavender “scallop lace” fondant ribbon. This was inspired by the pretty fondant ribbon that I saw on White Crafty Cakes’s Minnie Mouse cake on Cakesdecor http://cakesdecor.com/cakes/79250.
