The cake is chocolate carved then covered with fondant. We use skewers and separate the body and head with the use of cut cake boards. The cake is still supported by dowel rods. The cupcakes are the same flavor as the main cake then topped with cake fudge-balls covered with fondant then shaped and decorated to look like mini-Hello Kitty heads. The niece of our high-school classmate had so much fun with it and couldn’t stop taking pictures with her friends.
