This is a 12 inch square vanilla sponge topped with a 6 inch circle topped with wired roses. It is a birthday cake for a joint husband and wife party and the customer did not really know what she wanted. She asked for the base to be a bit more masculine and the top to be more feminime and a few roses.

the stripes on the side took me ages although now I have developed a bit more of a method I am sure that it would be much quicker next time.
