I made this cake for my son’s girlfriend, who has just turned 21. She loves the Despicable Me movies, Minions, and in particular the evil purple ones! I wanted to do something special, so had my first attempt at a cake stack. I used a 10mm hardwood dowel which I fixed to the cake drum. I then pushed the dowel through the decorated cakes, slightly offsetting each one from centre. The purple Minion is a girl, in honour of Katie! The cakes themselves are 2 cacao heaven cakes and one vanilla sponge, all covered in purple buttercream, intended to represent the evil purple Minion infiltrating the rest of the bunch! I really had such a lot of fun making this cake and I’m pleased to say that Ktie loved it. I hope you like it too. Thanks for looking. :).
