The wedding decor was full of gold chevrons as the table runners, invitations, and party favors. The bride saw a ruffled cake on my website and wanted that for her cake. In addition, she was having coral dahlias in her bouquet and on the centerpieces. These elements inspired me to make this cake – perhaps my favorite to date. I love how the sugar dahlias on the long wired stem look as if they are floating against the green foliage background. The gold chevrons pop with gold luster dust and a hint of highlighter. The ruffles are 3 different shades of coral and texturing techniques I combined into a random frilled masterpiece. Hope you like. The bride loved it!
