This week I created a cake for a bride to be, with fondant high heels, pearls and a black and white Damask pattern going around the cake. This cake was doomed for failure with everything that was going wrong, from wondering if my heels would dry in time, to baking the wrong cake and having to bake it all over again the day before it was due for delivery, but in the end it came together even better than expected.
I got to try a new cake gadget I purchased a couple weeks ago to create the Damask pattern on the cake, and I’m so glad that I went ahead with the purchase when I did.
All the decorations were made in fondant, the cake was a vanilla cake and it was filled with a white chocolate ganache with a raspberry puree swirl.
