The birthday girl, turning 18 wanted to have a Strawberry Shortcake themed birthday party as she felt she had missed out when she was a little girl on Strawberry Shortcake toys. So this cake was created with a bit more of a grown up strawberry theme. I had seen a cake a while ago on Facebook which was about 6 tiers and had a barrel of strawberries as one of the tiers which was my inspiration for the top tier. And the bottom tier I wanted to look like a cake hence the ‘icing’ look. And for the strawberry leaves I used the Jem cutters I have had sitting around waiting for just such an occasion to come out of the packet.
