My little one’s teacher phoned me a while back and wanted a monkey cake for her youngest. They wanted seven monkeys, but the rest was up to me.

Although I love making these types of cakes and using my own imagination, it’s also nerve wrecking for me, I literally stressed myself out until I knew they were happy with the cake.

I had so much fun with this one.

Both tiers are vanilla sponge cake with vanilla buttercream, covered in blue fondant. The bottom tier has 2D fondant trees flowers and grass and the top tier fondant butterflies. The monkeys are all fondant. I covered the board in the same blue fondant (the little girl’s favorite color) and brightened it with her name in pink and a pink ribbon around the board.
