My son-in-law, Jason was teasing my daughter about what kind of cake I was going to make her for her birthday. (It was a surprise.) He told her I was going to make a cow cake for her. So, when Sarah told me that, I told her I should make him a cow cake for his birthday, which was only a couple of weeks after her birthday. I made a white cake and had plops of chocolate cake through out the layers, sort of like the cow’s skin. Then, I used vanilla buttercream and put marshmallow fondant over the cake. We layered the black spots on that and I created the cow’s tail to make the boarder around the bottom of the cake. Sarah and I created the cow topper and the name is made from fondant, rolled and shaped into letters. Jason and all the family and friends at his birthday party all had a good laugh as the story of the cow cake was told by my daughter, Sarah.
